Bio

I am a London-based artist creating abstract kinetic sculptures. Born in Tehran, Iran, and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, I moved to London 15 years ago. With a background in design and science, I transitioned from a 20-year career in architecture to dedicate myself fully to my art practice in 2021.

My art journey began with personal introspection and is now inspired by societal structures, human interactions, and constructed notions. My work employs mechanical movement and audience interaction, exploring themes of individual psychoanalysis and social mechanisms through abstract geometry, light, sound, and movement. Previous series such as Death Rituals and Powerscape delved into individuals, rituals, and social mechanisms.

Select exhibitions and recognition include a residency with the Barbican Arts Group Trust, showcases at the Yunus Emre Institute and the Nunnery Gallery in 2023, a nomination for the VAA International Exhibition & Scholarship Prize in 2024, and a private exhibition titled Powerscape in 2025.

Statement

I create abstract kinetic sculptures that combine complex ideas with sensory experiences. Through mechanical movement, light, and audience interaction, my work engages the viewer’s emotions and thoughts in unexpected ways. My art is grounded in philosophy, social science, and technology, using geometry, sound, and motion as its main building blocks.

Each sculpture acts as a portal, encouraging people to think more deeply about their own ideas. Because these works are kinetic, they move and change, using ‘social energy’ to explore how we live today through our shared rituals and memories.

I use a wide range of materials, including fabric, wood, metal, electronics, and 3D-printed parts, to build bespoke mechanisms for every piece. My sculptures fall into three categories: Analogue, Digital, and Hybrid. Each one stays still until an observer engages with it. Ultimately, these pieces invite you to find a personal connection with the art while helping me to constantly question and refine my own work.
